The annual Go Chess placement test consists of a theory test and a practical test. After both tests, the participants are placed into a rank, namely gold, silver and bronze (from highest to lowest). The rule for placement is described below:
You can either ace, pass, skip or fail the theory test. Acing the theory test grants you two free wins in the practical test. You will be eliminated if you fail the theory test.
Practical test consists of two games, you can either win a game or lose a game. Winning both games will place you in gold, winning only one game will place you in silver and losing both games will place you in bronze.
