Things to Consider

  • What is the problem? (e.g. bullying, littering, lack of respect, overuse of technology)
  • Why is this problem important?
  • How does it impact daily school life?
  • What solutions can you suggest?
  • How will you convince your audience?

Time Allowed

  • Planning: 2–3 minutes
  • Writing: 25 minutes
  • Proofreading: 2–3 minutes

Persuasive Techniques (Must Include)

Tick as you plan:

  • Rhetorical question
  • Repetition (e.g. “We must act. We must care. We must change.”)
  • Emotive language
  • Direct address (“you”, “we”)
