Write a speech to present at a school assembly in which you:
- Clearly explain the problem
- Describe how it is affecting students and/or teachers
- Propose solutions to improve the situation

Students and teachers at your school
Purpose
To persuade your audience to understand the issue and take action
Things to Consider
- What is the problem? (e.g. bullying, littering, lack of respect, overuse of technology)
- Why is this problem important?
- How does it impact daily school life?
- What solutions can you suggest?
- How will you convince your audience?
Time Allowed
- Planning: 2–3 minutes
- Writing: 25 minutes
- Proofreading: 2–3 minutes
Persuasive Techniques (Must Include)
Tick as you plan:
- Rhetorical question
- Repetition (e.g. “We must act. We must care. We must change.”)
- Emotive language
- Direct address (“you”, “we”)
