The Tropical House gecko and the Common House gecko have many similarities. The main difference is in the type of foods they eat. The Tropical house gecko consumes spiders, moths, flies, mosquitoes. The common house gecko consumes moths, flies, spiders and mosquitoes and is cannibalistic (eat their own). |
Jin and Leah have found a gecko in their basement and want to find out which species it is.
Jin: “If we feed it a spider and it eats it, then we’ll know it’s a Tropical house gecko!”
Leah: “The only way we’ll definitively know is if we give it a small gecko and it feeds on it.”
