The school SRC is carrying out a vote on whether the school should hold a mufti day at the end of term. A simple majority (most votes that meeting) is required to pass the idea, or it does not go ahead.

The 19 committee members can either vote YES, NO, or WITHHOLD (don’t want to vote on the matter).

The members casted their votes and the idea was defeated by 8 votes to 5 votes, with 6 members withholding their vote. However, because of the large number of withholding votes, there will be another vote during the next meeting.
